Unsupported Vehicles on CarStory Appraise

What does it mean when the app says, "Sorry, this vehicle is not supported yet."?

When you scan or paste a VIN into CarStory Appraise, the first step is to decode the VIN and determine the YMM. Once the YMM has been determined, CarStory matches the vehicle details for a specific vehicle ID from the 3rd party pricing source chosen at checkout (NADA or Black Book).ย 

In some cases, CarStory is unable to find the matching vehicle ID from the 3rd party pricing source.
When this happens, the app will display the error message "Sorry, this vehicle is not supported yet. CarStory supports most used passenger cars."

The most common causes for this error are:

  • VIN does not belong to a passenger vehicle (CarStory Appraise does not support commercial or salvage vehicles)

  • VIN belongs to new car (CarStory Appraise only supports used cars)

  • Non-standard Body style or Vehicle type (CarStory Appraise does not support refrigerator trucks, trailers, or motorcycles)ย
